Subject: [PA-LAC] Clarifying Microfilm
Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2002 16:31:15 EST
Someone suggested using clear blue plastic when scanning to improve the
image. To improve the image when looking at microfilm, an archivist at the
National Archives suggested putting clear yellow plastic on the surface the
microfilm is projected on (they had some yellow plastic sheets in a drawer
which they lend if asked). She was right. It helped so much that I bought
an 8 1/2 x 11 clear yellow plastic sheet at an arts and crafts store. They
couldn't figure out what to charge me, so they gave it to me for nothing.
