Another article from my grandfather's scrapbook, this one unfortunately undated. I believe it dates from the early 1950s.

MRS. JOHN QUINN TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. John C. QUINN, 36, 1314 Penn Ave., the former Miss Jean MC CARTHY, died yesterday morning in St. Vincent's Hospital, New York City, after a long illness.

Mrs. Quinn was a patient in Mercy Hospital, this City, from February to the end of April when she was taken to St. Vincent's, where she underwent surgery May 6.

Born in this City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. McCarthy, she was a member of St. Paul's Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Her father, now retired, was a former instructor in mechanics at St. Michael's Industrial School, Hoban Heights.

Mrs. Quinn was a graduate of Technical High School and Marywood College. Her husband is employed at the Daystrom plant in Archbald.

Other survivors are a son, John Jr., 11, at home; a daughter, Lucy Ann, 2, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Battle, Long Island, N.Y.

The funeral will be held from the Cusick Funeral Home, 217 Jefferson Ave., Monday with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Interment, undecided. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight after 7 o'clock.
