A little further clarification on Minooka is needed. Minooka is now part of the city of Scranton, comprising Ward 24. It was annexed by the city in 1950. Previously it was Lackawanna Township. Lackawanna Twp. is no longer in existence. It originally was made up of what is not Moosic, Old Forge, Taylor and Minooka. One by one each community was broken off.

Minooka is indeed between South Side and the borough of Moosic, not Moosic St. Moosic St. is very much a part of Scranton, part being PA Rt 307. Its main streets are Birney Ave. Pittston Ave. and now Davis St., the area below the Davis St./Montage interchange on Rt. 81. Montage Ski Resort and most of the mountain are part of what was Lackawanna Twp.
