Hi Joe,

Sure can always count on you to come through with records .... Thanks VERY
much!

One question I have though is whether your data base goes back further than
1890? If not, this might explain why no GENNESSYs are listed. I've tracked
them in Carbondale from 1860 - 1910, although under a myriad of close and
not so close misspellings of this surname.

They (James and Katherine) had 10 children from 1852 through 1880 - so
that's why it's a puzzle that they don't show up in anywhere in the birth
records, unless of course if the data base doesn't go back that far?

Same thing with John HOPE, my great-grandfather, who had a child (my
grandmother) in Carbondale in 1887, and also a few prior to that date.

As mentioned, I'm planning a trip up to Carbondale in the spring (I live in
SWC Florida) and aside from records at St. Rose of Lima (which I hope to
have before traveling), I'd like to know where to go to find
further records. Any suggestions?

(And a PS here: THANK YOU SO MUCH to ALL of the wonderful people on this
list who have helped me immensely in my research. I subscribe to several
genealogy lists and this one far surpasses any other in generosity and
kindness. I am very grateful. And most especially to Jim DUNN who though a
truly *amazing* coincidence, reconnected me to living descendents of my
Carbondale family! :-)

Best wishes, and thanks again!
Eileen
