Donna,
I know of only one organization that is attempting to computer index the obits.
The Genealogical Research Society of Northeast Pa has >400,000 obits in
their db.
Minooka would have been listed in the county deaths, not the Scranton deaths.
Unfortunately, the county death index begins with 1893 deaths.
Fortunately, these have also been computer indexed by the society.
Sadly, No Archer can be found in this index.
GRSNP's obit db lists these Archer's who died in Lackawanna County.
Jane E. Archer died, 3 Aug, 1904. She also had a will. GRSNP also has
these on microfilm.
John Archer, died in Forest City (Not Lackawanna County, but very close),
20 Nov 1919 in his 70th year.
He was killed by a train on the railroad tracks.
Mary A Archer, d 12 May 1920 in Scranton.
William W. Archer, d 16 Nov 1919, in his 80th year.
All the other Archer's are recent deaths..>1990.
In the "For What It's Worth" category:
Hannah Worth, died 1919 (no dob is given) the source is the Wilkes Barre
Record April 1910.
Hope this helps.
