I'm still searching too. An obit for him did not appear in the Scranton
Times between April 1 and April 30, 1958.
At this point, I usually ask a few more questions - are you sure he was
in Scranton (deaths from out of the area might be delayed)? What is the
source of the information? The possibilites - he may have been buried in a
Scranton cemetery after being buried somewhere else, or a tombstone
transcription may be incorrect, or the wrong date carved, etc. Knowing
these things may point me in the proper direction.
Just so you know that it wasn't a total waste of time, I pulled
information on 17 names during that month for my various projects (Reese
surnames, Washburn Street Cemetery, and Minister's Index) so I'm more than
willing to look at March or continue through May.
