Many years ago as a college student in Philadelphia I worked with the
laborers union during the summer. I spent time working in cemeteries and stacking is
a very common thing. I know the Odd Fellows cemetery where I worked for a time
went three deep, and I seem to remember from 40 years ago that potters field
was four deep.

This is not an uncommon practice, but it does make looking for family members
sometime difficult.
