Joyce, there are several Mattox and Maddocks in my book but none at all from
PA--Va and GA appear to be the only states to give Bounty Lands to soldiers
with those surnames.
Maybe Richard, Peter, and Joseph gave up the right to apply atone for Jacob's
sin of desertion. :>)
Yes, every family has a "Jacob"!!! But then that is what makes this study all
the more fun. At least our Black Sheep leave a great paper trail.
Sorry I didn't find anything for you. Don't know much about Northumberland
Co. either.
