Margo, there are no Metzgers or Medskers or anything similar in my book.
There are 3 listings for Sample. There is a James Sample, Private, from VA
(and you never know, the disputed PA/VA lands--could be PA). and also 2
entries for a Robert Sample of PA, Captain, who received 500 acres of 29 May
1787 and 500 acres on 17 Oct. 1786. These two entries may well refer to the
same Robert Sample.
