Hi again Francine:

I should know better than to try and answer without my documentation in
front of me, but I can never resist a genealogical question! <G> At any
rate, when I return from travels tomorrow, I reserve the right to correct
the results of my (mostly from memory, but laptop helps) records!! I think
I've got it!

Let me start with my immigrant, John Henry BAHN b 1708 Germany

John Henry BAHN m Eva KREMMER b 1714 Germany
Ch: Henry b 1736
* Maria Elizabetha b 1738
Maria Catherina b 1741
Eva b 1743
Juliana b 1746
John Adam b 1748
Anna Maria b 1752
Johnnes b 1754
John Jacob b 1757
Unknown daughter b 1760

* Maria Elizabeth BAHN b 13 Aug 1738 Hellam, York, PA d 1769 York, PA
m 7 Jan 1759 at Christ Lutheran Church, York, PA
Frederick RUHL b ca 1737 Philadelphia, PA d ca 1815, son of Peter b 1694
Germany and Anna Catharina b Germany RUHL. After the death of Maria
Elizabeth in 1769, Frederick m Catherine Eva BORTNER.

Children of Maria Elizabeth BAHN and Frederick RUHL: Catherine b 1759,
Henry [Heinrich] b 1763 m 24 Sep 1782 Margaretha Barbara BAIHLI at
the First Reformed Lutheran Ch., York, PA
--------------------

I have this family as well:

Balthasar BORTNER b 1698 Oberhockstadt d 1748 Tulpehocken, Berks, PA m
Maria Elisabetha ? b 1695 Germany d ca 1750 PA

Children: Jacob b 1722, Hanna Mela b 1724, Anna Barbara b 1727, George b
1732 m Maria Appolonia FLOUCHER, Peter b 1734, Maria Elizabeth
b 1738
---------------------

Now, the Catherine Eva BORTNER who married Frederick RUHL has this notation
in my data base [name also found as KANN! Eureka! I will rustle up all my
books and papers when I get home -- was she a KANN who first married a
BORTNER (probably, since I have no parents shown for her) or a BORTNER who
first married a KANN (not as likely). I do have a bunch more stuff on the
BORTNERs and RUHLs.

Her marriage to Frederick is definitely shown as a 'BORTNER' - now to try
and figure out who she might have married first....
