David,
My reference books do not show a Hanover Twp. in present-day Lancaster
Co. Evidently the Hanover Twp. which you seek lay in a portion of
Lancaster Co. which is now in a county taken off of the very large, old
Lancaster Co. formed in 1729.
The Pennsylvania counties that currently have Hanover Townships are
Beaver, Lehigh, Luzerne, Northampton, and Washington. A portion of
Northumberland Co. was taken from old Lancaster Co. in 1772, and in 1786
Luzerne Co. was formed from Northumberland Co.
The old records you reference should be found in Lancaster, Lancaster
Co., although some old land records have been lost. Sometimes COPIES
were made of land records and placed in the county seats of new counties
taken off of the older counties in Pennsylvania.
The physical location of Hanover Twp. in Luzerne Co. is in the county's
center, southwest of Wilkes-Barre. The towns of Warrior Run and Sugar
Notch are located within Hanover township. The county seat for Luzerne
Co. is Williamsport.
Hope this helps you find your quarry.
