February 9, Friday
Today's O/D is Lt. Trissler and the S/G is Godlieb
Newman. (26)

At the Orphans Court, Peter Graeff, minor son of John
Graeff, late of Lancaster Borough, above the age of
14, chose his brother Jacob Graeff as guardian. This
was to replace John Graeff who had been previously
chosen by the court. Also at today's session, the
court permitted John Jacob Cando and Elizabeth Cando
(the minor children of Nicholas Cando, late of Rapho
Township) to choose Hubertus Baumgartner as'guardian
of the estate left by John Eaman. (27)

In Lebanon Township, Henry Weitzel, "yoeman," made his
will. To his eldest son Martin he gave "plantation and
lands" of 130 acres, plus grain, I plow, I harrow, a
windmill and a table. To his daughter Mary Magdelena
he left his "new Fustian Bed", a pillow, new spinning
wheel, & a hive of bees. To son Elias he left a large
Bible and a hive of bees, (wearing apparel and other
beds "to be divided among my 3 sons"). Flax, hemp, tow
and yarn to be equally divided among the 4 children
(Martin, John, Elias, Magdalena). (28)

Also today, John Ferree, High Seriff of Lancaster
County, sold goods and lands of Alexander McCausland,
physician, of Leacock Township. This sale was
necessary to pay the debts of McCausland to William
Richards (6 pounds, 7 shillings). (29)
