For Leavenworth, Kansas, try old newspapers from the Kansas State Historical
Society. They can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.

I'm not sure what cities you're interested in for Leavenworth County, but the
largest city there I believe is Leavenworth, so looking under that city would
