I am gradually gathering information on the above families, who have
their "New World Roots" in Lancaster Co. PA. I am making progress, but I
always hope to hear from others who have connections with these
surnames. I descend from Ludwig (Lewis) KASSLER/CASSLER, who came into
Philadelphia in 1750. He and his family eventually moved to Warwick
Twp. Lancaster Co. He was of Moravian faith. I have discovered that some
of the family remained in PA for quite sometime, and that others moved
in the latter 1700s and early 1800s into other areas. Some of them went
into Ohio. My immediate ancestor, Wilhelm Cassler, Jr., left Lancaster
Co. and went into Tuscarawas County, OH by 1801 along with a group of
Moravians from Lancaster County. Others of this family settled in Stark
County, OH.
