I have a Terisa/Teresa BAKER 7/1807-6/1858 wed to Elias KOBLE/Coble of
Lancaster co, PA. I am desperately trying to find her parents. Have you

Thomas Baker, subject, from Colerain township, Lancaster County. He was
born July 13, 1822 a son of Lewis and Diana (Jackson) Baker, both of
whom were born in Chester County, PA.
Thomas Baker traces his ancestry back definitely to Sir
Richard Baker, who was born in the county of Kent, England, in 1568 and
died 1644. He was the author of the "Chronicles of the Kings of
England". His son, John Baker, born 1598 died about 1672. They are first
found in North of England, where they were property owners in the 15th
century, and in the 17th century were strong supporter of George Fox,
and suffered imprisonment under Cromwell. About 1650 represetatives of
the family were at or near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The first family
to come to this county was (1) Joseph baker, born in 1630, son of John
before mentioned. He was of Shropshire, England. With his wife, Mary, he
settled in Edgemont township, Del. Co., PA., in 1685, upon a large tract
of land. He was the representative from Chester county in the Provincial
Assembly in the years 1701, 03, 06,10, 11, and 1713. He died in 1716, a
member of the Society of Friends, his will was dated Dec. 19, 1714. His
children were all born in England, were; John; Sarah, wife of Thomas
Smedley; Robert and Joseph.
II. Joseph Baker, II, was the son of Joseph, born in 1667 and died
1735, he married Martha Woodward, and they had children; Richard, Aaron,
Ann, Susanna, Jane, Jesse, Sarah, Joseph, Rachel, Nehemiah and John.
III. Aaron Baker, son of Joseph II was born 1701 and died 1783. He
married Mary Edward and they had 6 children; John who married Hannah
Pennock in 1747; Mary who married Thomas Carrington in 1752; Martha who
married John Clayton in 1753; Esther who married William Chalfant; Aarm;
Samuel who lived in W. Marlboro township, Chester county., where he
founded a branch of the family.
IV. Aaron Baker II, the great-grandfather of Thomas, was born 1729 in
Chester county, in 1759 he married Sarah Hayes, their children; James
who settled near Coatsville, Chester county; Nathan; Elisha; Levi;
Joshua; Aaron; John; Hannah; Mary; Rachel; and Sarah
V. Aaron III, grandfather of Thomas was born in Chester County in 1767,
and did 1853. He married Hannah Harland, also a native of Chester
county, their children; Lewis, father to Thomas; Reuben who marrried
Mary Davis; Susanna who married William M. Davis; George who never
married; Jacob. who married Lydia Lamborn; Thomas, who married Mary
Rakestraw;Aaron, who married M. Ottey; Harland, who married Hannah
Eastburn; Hannah, unmarried/
VI. Lewis Baker, father of Thomas, was born in 1790, Chester County,
and in 1820 he married Diana Jackson. Thet settled near Chatham, Chester
county. Lewis died in 1835, leaving a widow and 3 sons; Thomas of
Colerain township, Lewis, married Mary Greenfield and Robert, who died
as a young man.
Thomas Baker married June 1855 to Eliza, d/o James and Abigail Jackson,
residents of Lancaster county., their children; (1) Abbie born 1856,
married Howard Brinton, died leaving 2 children; Thomas B. and Lewis B.
(2) Allison, born 1858, married Anna Maule of Colerain, a d/o J. Comley
and S. Emma Maule. (3) James E., he married Emma MacIntyre of Phila.,
and they had 6 children, Walter, Jeanette, Marian, Edna, and Eugene. (4)
Xanthus, born 1863 married Della "Girvin, of Colerain and they had 3
children, Eliza, Arthur, and Victoria. (5) Lewis, born 1864, died in
childhood. (6) Lydia, born 1872, died in childhood. (7) Lewis born 1870,
married Kate Girvin, and they had a son, Richard who was born April,
1897.
