With all the information out there on the Brubaker family lately, I
thought this article might be of interset to somebody.

BRUBAKER FAMILY TO HOLD REUNION
Clan Will Meet September 8 on Farm Owned by their Forefathers
A reunion of the Brubakers, one of the oldest families of the county,
will be held on Saturday, September 8, on the farm of John Alexander
Brubaker, first house above the Carson Valley school house, in Allegheny
Township. This farm is a part of the original land grant taken by the two
brothers who first came to Blair county from Lancaster County about the year
1800.
One of the brothers, Abraham, was a bachelor. Jacob married Miss
Catherine Duncan. They had four daughters and two sons. One of the sons,
Ephriam, married Miss Lydia Hart. Six sons and six daughters grew up. Four
of these - Samuel, John and Jacob Burket and Mrs. Emma Selwitz - are still
living in the vicinity where there forefathers settled about 1800.
Samuel Brubaker is the oldest of this family. He will be 83 on November
24. He is a Civil War veteran. He and his wife, who was Miss Christine
Berkey, have a daughter and six sons living, forty-one grandchildren,
forty-eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and all connected with the family are cordially invited to join
in the festivities, which will take the form of a basket picnic. Those
wishing to come are instructed to take the Hollidaysburg branch train to
Spring Meadow, from which point it is about two miles to the farm of John
Brubaker, or take the Altoona-Duncansville bus to Cross Keys. The bus and
morning trains will be met by automobiles to convey visitors to the farm.

The article said Burket at one point but it was a typo by the typesetter.
