Subject: [PALANCAS] Info Request on MCCREARY/MCCREERY
Date: Mon, 3 Jun 2002 12:08:14 -0700

Greetings Everyone,

I'm looking for info on 5 John MCCREARYS.

John 1 - b. 1684 d. 1737 in Sadsbury (according to undocumented info). He was Presbyterian. Any suggestions on where to look for burial info? Based on the early date of his death and the discussion a few weeks ago about other faiths in the Quaker cemeteries, I thought maybe that might be something to pursue but I haven't found the right info.

John 2 - b. 1710 d. 1777 in Little Britain. Was married to Mary FRAZIER (1718-1802). Can't find burial records for either of them, any ideas? I have his will, he spelled his name MCCREERY. Would be interested in Mary's WILL.

John 3 - b. 1733 d. 1816 in Martic Twp. He's buried at Mt. Nebo. He married Rebecca CLARK at St. James Episcopal Church in 1765 (don't know why they didn't marry in a Presbyterian Church). I am looking for a copy of his WILL and Rebecca's.

John 4 - b. 1764 d. 1844 m. Elizabeth LUTZ. This is where I am unsure of the research that others have done. John 3 and Rebecca were married in 1765 but this John was born in 1764. There were many other branches of the family and most of the men seemed to be named John, Joseph, William, etc. This John was supposedly buried somewhere in Apollo, Armstrong Co., but I have found no documentation of that either. I am looking for burial, marriage and a will on this John.

John 5 - b. 1800 d. 1856 m. Catherine HUNTER, both are buried at Brownstown Emmanuel United Methodist (formerly Evangelical United Brethren). I'm looking for marriage and will info on both of them.

If anybody out there has any suggestions where I might look, I'd really appreciate the help!

Thanks very much.

Cindy McCreary
