Could someone offer suggestions of how I could get orphan court records on
this gentleman. He was born in Scotland and I do not know his wife's name.
I know three of his childrens names - James W. Witherspoon (b. 15 Aug 1751
in Lancaster Co. PA), Robert Witherspoon (b. c. 1760 Lancaster Co.) and John
Witherspoon (b. 16 Oct 1766 Lancaster Co., PA). By the dates on these guys
there should be orphan court records on them and there may have been other
children or more than one wife involved. I would also be interested in
where he might be buried and his children christened - they most probably
would have been Presbyterian. (James Witherspoon is accepted as a younger
brother of Rev. John Witherspoon of NJ.
