Jim, re: the DAR registering all service.
On a personal note....I found the pension app for John Grim who served at
Trenton, Ft. Washington and Long Island.
His original app had been "et by vermin" and this one is a duplicate that
was processed thru the court system and verified by several friends.
To date....NO ONE is interested in logging this info in Rev. War data bases.
I think it is a pity for a soldier to have served under such terrible
conditions and no one cares to document it.
I finally got a tombstone erected for him thru the Vet. Admin., called the
local historical societies, DAR, etc. to see if they wanted to participate
in any manner and again ....there was nothing but apathy.
Breaks my heart.
