Hi Dru,
You can check the tax list for that year, I've seen names mentioned in
the tax lists of 1763 for civilians killed in Pontiac's war during an Indian
raid. I'm not aware of a raid in 1757. The 1763 tax list for Hanover Twp.
has a chilling reference, two scalped, one still living.
The 1763 raid was along the northern fringe of Lancaster County, in
areas now part of Dauphin and Lebanon County. At the same time there was a
raid in Berks County and a Lutheran Minister, maybe Schumacher is his name,
references baptizing kids while under Indian attack. The Pa. German Society
published his records.
The 1763 culminated in the Paxton raid on the Indians at Conestoga in
December of that year.
You could also try checking the Pennsylvania Gazette, they used to have
the on-line version at the Lancaster County Historical Society but I don't
know if its still available.
