Ernest, Donna, and others
First let me point you to the website http://genealogy.jefflaplante.com/
which has lots of Line/Lyne information, including some I've submitted,
but much more, including Zimmerman and others from Cumberland/Lancaster
counties. It's much better organized that what I give below.
Okay, filling in details I have:
Philip Spangler born 13 Sep 1784 (as you have)
died 10 Feb 1867
buried Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, Cumberland
Co., PA
(ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/cumberland/cemeteries/ashland01.txt)
married 28 Apr 1807 (I didn't record a source,
will check, but matches your info)
Maria Line born 6 Jan 1780 (again, as you have)
died 1 Dec 1867
buried Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle, Cumberland Co., PA
Their son George, also buried in Ashland (11 Sep 1813 - 21 Jun 1846),
married Nancy Myers (15 Sep 1815 - ) in 1839. I'm a little shaky on
the rest of their children, but my GGrandfather, Joseph Phillip Spangler
(8 Apr 1846 - 19 Feb 1911) is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro,
Montgomery Co., IL. with his wife Matilda Holderread (b. 14 Jul 1851,
Millport, PA,
died, 6 Sep 1935.) Source:

I can separately send a photo of their gravestone if anyone is interested.
The Spangler side was always where I was weak. On the Line/Lyne, I'll repeat
below a 1913 letter
to my grandmother Spangler, and can give other information on this side.
Note dated Sept 28, -13
My dear Mrs. Appleton,
The information you sent me I gave to Miss Halbert. It is very
necessary that you
have a direct line from yourself back to William Lyne and his father George
Lyne. I think
that I might be able to give you the missing link. George Lyne died 1788 his
wife Salome
(Zimmerman anglicized afterwards to Carpenter) Lyne died 1807. Then it will
be necessary
for you to give all their children, the year of their birth & to whom
married if possible.
You get two Application papers from your Chapter for George Lyne. Then two
more application
papers for William Lyne born April 12 - 1749 died June 12 - 1822 and his
wife Maria (Bear)
Lyne died 1826. Next you give the names of all their children, their birth &
to whom married.
Their daughter Mary Lyne born January 6 - 1780 married Philip Spangler April
28-1807.
Am sorry that I do not have the rest of the dates. Their son George Spangler
married
Nancy Myers. My writing to your Aunts you might be able to get the birth and
date of
deaths of your line. Mother gave me the information as Mary Lyne was her
Aunt, a sister
to her father (David Lyne).
You have two ancestors in the Revolutionary War. The father George and
his three sons.
David, William, and Abraham all served in the same company. Penna Archives
Series
2nd Volume 15 page 626 If you wish you can add to what you have that the old
Bible
is still in the family also (the sword of William Lyne is still in the
family
(you add this to William's paper) My papers were both accepted so I don't
think
you will have any trouble. I put in my paper my ancestor assisted in Revo
war as
minute man. It is only necessary to give the names of all of the children,
etc
of the men who served in the war. After you get your 4 Application papers
you will understand.
