Dear Nadine,
This is the best question I've ever seen posted as it applies to
EVERYONE! And what wonderful responses for such varied reasons.
I never got to know any of my grandparents as my paternal ones died by
the time I was two and my maternal ones never came over from Poland so
those are my choices. As for dinner, I would ask them to show me how to
cook THEIR favorite items for special days so I could pass those flavors
along to my children. Of course I would want to ask several of those
"brick wall" questions but mostly just to have them for once near me
would be special enough.
