Hi Folks,
The Conestoga Area Historical Society is still looking for veterans of the
various wars that lived in our area, what is now the Penn Manor School
District. People from Conestoga, Manor, Martic and Pequea Townships and
Millersville Borough.
The names we have now, approaching 3000, I believe, are on our webpage in
the Proudly They Served Folder. One of our primary sources was tombstones
but since many people left the area after being born here its hard establish
a complete list.
If you have an ancestor who served in a war from Conestoga, Manor, Martic
and Pequea Twp. or Millersville borough, please let us know for inclusion on
the list. It covers from the American Revolution to the current war in
Iraq.
Our web page is at:
http://rootsweb.com/~pacahs/index.htm
Look in the "Proudly They Served" folder on the main page. Revolutionary
War soldiers are listed by Township while the rest are at the bottom of the
page listed alphabetically by war.
Jim
