Here are some deaths, marriages and other information published in the New
Castle News on April 13, 1908. I copied just this page.

Wednesday.
The marriage of Miss Ethel Allen of Cascade street and Mr. Leroy Whitting of
this city will take place at the home of the bride at high noon. Mrs. W.D.
Wallace will be hostess at the Wednesday Morning Musical club which meets in
the First Baptist Church at 10 o'clock. The Current Events of 1900, will meet
with Mrs. John A. Butler of Crawford avenue. The Lady Maccabees will hold an
installation. The Pleasure club will give a dance in Peerless hall. The
Oratorio society will meet in the Coliseum.

Thursday.
The marriage of Miss Jean Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin F. Norris of
West Grant street, and Mr. Findley McConnell, takes place shortly before 6
o'clock and will be followed by a reception from 6 to 8 o'clock. Mrs. John
Jones of Boyles avenue, will entertain the Taka Kensington. Miss Irene Shaw of
Raymond street, will entertain the Mezeppa club. Miss Goldna Clark of Leasure
avenue, will entertain the Edis Tsae girls. Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Leonardson of
Boyles avenue, will entertain the Highland 500 Evening club. Mrs. Smith of
Crawford avenue, will entertain the Alemda club.

Friday
Mrs. Robert A. Browne of Leasure avenue, will entertain at a card part at 2:30
o'clock. Mrs. Robert L. Wallace of Wallace avenue, will entertain at an
evening party in honor of Miss Ethel Rumberger, a spring bride-elect. Miss
Pearl Merriman of Pearson street, will entertain at a 7 o'clock dinner.
Sorosis will meet with Mrs. S.A. Wilson of Winter avenue. The B.A.G. club will
meet with Lee Shira. Miss Mabel Wilson will entertain the L..I.G.N. club at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoover of Croton avenue. Miss Marian Reeves of
Boyles avenue will entertain the S.S.kensington.

Surprise Party. A merry crowd of young folks of Oak street school, assembled
at the home of Miss Anna Frye, Pearl street, and tendered a surprise. The
evening was spent in music and games and the guests had a delightful time. At
the conclusion a lunch was served. The host was assisted in entertaining by
her sisters, Margarite and Hazel. Those present were the following: Clair
Smith, Gladys Hammill, Josephine Patton, Florence Rodgers, Edith Farrel, Mary
Watt, Mae Baker, Iva Baker, Sylvia Snyder, Edna Wilkins, Lillian Jones, Hazel
Frye, Anna Frye, Ralph Snyder, Glenn Lemmon, Boyd Hammill, Floyd Hammill,
Walter Smith, Orville Kerr, Paul ?eelan, Albert Wilkins, Harold Caldwell.
