I have been reviewing the 1850 census for the Kaufman/Wimer names. The
spelling of both names is quiet erratic. My John KAUFMAN b. 1814 in Germany(
not proven) died in the late 1860s in Lawrence Co. He married Mary A. WIMER
b. 1819 in PA to Nicholas and Mary Otter or Quick WIMER, she died in 1892 in
Lawrence Co. There is a Christian KAUFFMAN 81yo b. Germany in the census for
South Slippery Rock Twp. 1850 census in the same household is a Sarah 62,
Jacob 25, Ann 22, Adam 21, and James 19. In the same township is a Daniel
Kauffman 27, Mary 26, John 6, Abraham 4, and Sarah 1. Does anyone have any
information about these families or any other KAUFMAN (any spelling) or WIMER
(any spelling)?
