Subject: [PALEBANO] Salem Lutheran Churchyard & Mt. Lebanon Cemetery
> Hello list members,
> Is anyone familiar with the history of the churchyard of the Salem
Lutheran Church? I understand that those buried by the church were moved (or
at least the grave markers were moved) to Mt. Lebanon cemetery. Does anyone
know when that happened? Is this coincident with when the church stopped
having burials in the churchyard? My gg-grandfather had two daughters that
died in 1870 of scarlet fever. It's been suggested to me that they were
probably buried in the churchyard at that time and later moved to Mt.
Lebanon.
> Their mother died in 1877 and the Salem Lutheran church records indicate
that she was interred at Mt. Lebanon. I've checked at the office of the
cemetery and they have no records of any of these three people. Does anyone
have any information about how complete these records are? Are they complete
and reasonably accurate from the time the cemetery opened?
