Hi Laura,

I can't answer your question but I am also interested in
information on a slate quarry. My great-grandfather,
Martin Gutekunst, was killed in an explosion at a quarry
in about 1900. I have been told it was in Macungie, Lehigh
Co. PA.

The story was printed in the local newspaper but I haven't
been able to get back to Allentown to check it out.

If anyone has any information on this incident, I would be
very grateful.
