Witmer, Frank Bowman, M.D., of Bismarck, Lebanon Co., his family can
date its American birth back to 1727, is a son of Franklin Joseph and
Frances (Nissley) Witmer, the latter of whom is still living at age 70
(1904)
Franklin J., was born in Cornwall twp, at Bismarck, in 1832 and his wife
was a native of Dauphin Co., d/o Martin and Barbara (Nissley) Nissley.
He was a member of the German Reformed Church of Bismarck. Franklin J.,
was the only son of Joseph Witmer, and he himself had 9 children; Annie
Catharine, who married Christian Krider, of N. Lebanon twp., Joseph
Nissley of Frankford, Phila., Martin Henry, of Newville, Cumberland Co.,
Emma Rose, w/o George Stein, Francis died at a baby, Alice Virgina,
unmarrid, Dr. Frank B., David Hykes of Phila, Lizzie Minevra, married A.
C. E. Heister.
Dr. Frank B. was born April 9, 1867, on June 20, 1896 married Jeannetta
Colvin, of Monongahela, Washington Co., PA, d/o Enoch and Mary Colvin.
Children; Franklin Colvin Witmer.
