Daniel R. THOMAS, d. 19 Nov 1920 in Luzerne Co, PA, was in the 1880-1920
censuses for Newport, Luzerne County, PA. He married Elizabeth (probably
SAGER) abt. 1882 and had the following children: Arthur S., Archibald,
Elizabeth, Sterling R., and Daniel S. Daniel, Elizabeth, Arthur S., and
Daniel S. are buried in the Newport Cemetery.

I am interested in contacting someone who is familiar with this family to
determine if Daniel R. THOMAS is the same Daniel THOMAS born abt. 1857 in
Schuylkill County, PA, son of unknown THOMAS and Elizabeth "Eliza" HARRIS.
A widowed Elizabeth THOMAS is in the 1860 census for Norwegian Twp,
Schuylkill County, PA, with sons James, Thomas, and Daniel. In the 1870
census, Elizabeth has re-married to William JAMES and is living with her
blended family in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, PA. In the 1880 census,
James, Thomas, and Daniel THOMAS are no longer in the family household, and
a Daniel THOMAS of the right age is found as a boarder in the George SAGER
household in Newport, Luzerne County, PA, and I think that George's
daughter, Elizabeth, who was also in the household, later became the wife of
Daniel.

Elizabeth "Eliza" (Harris) THOMAS JAMES is the sister of my second great
grandmother, Rebecca (Harris) FRANCIS JAMES.
