Hi listers,
I'm posting again to ask for aid in research questions.
My ancestors, James, his sons Jonathan, Thomas and
James Hampton were listed as original settlers of Muncy
twp, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, 1774. They were in
the area from then until 1800 when Jonathan and Thomas
went to Toronto area in Canada. The father James died
in 1803 and James may have continued in Muncy for
some time. James Sr married a daughter of Thomas
Newman, also an early settler, she died before her father
and her name was not included in the will. Colborn was
Jonathan Hampton's father-in-law and was in Canada
with them. Hamilton, Silverthorne, and McCarty were
other names that married into the Hampton and Newman
families.
I'd appreciated hearing from any with information about
any of these people--or possilbe record places to search.
Sincerely, Luann B Seamons, Preston, Idaho
