I just looked on the bottom of a box of ivory chess players I have and it
says in ink in handwriting by my grandfather.
Frank Barr Derrick City, Pa.
Purchased in Bradford at Brennan's & Davis Store
January 29, 1885 for $1.25

I learned to play chess with this set when I was a child.
