Geoff

You asked about Dotter's Corners. Today it is just a crossroads with a
couple of houses. It is located 3 miles north of Kresgeville and 2 miles east of
the center of the Penn Forest Reservoir on the Carbon/Monroe County line.

I have the 1875 Polk Township map and it shows the "Dottersville Hotel", a
carpentry shop and the residence of Mary Dotter at the intersection now called
Dotters Corners.

Polk Twp. is divided up into 8 school districts with the district including
Dotters Corners being "Dotters District No. 2. Within a mile radius are about
6 or 8 residences marked by an initial and last name. Such as C, F, J, and P
Dotter. Also Mrs. R. and Mary. No other first names. Two distilleries in
the immediate area.

If you have access to the U,S Geological Survey maps such as at a library, it
is on the Pohopoco Mountain Quad.

I also have a Dotter ancestors on my wife's side, let me know if you want to
compare notes. However I am heading south tomorrow morning so wait until next
weekend to contact me, when I am set up and back on line.
