Mennonties-Upper Saucon- Tombstones, Jacob Meyer, died May 4, 1790,
Samuel Moyer, the elder died about 1832. Michael Landis died Aug 5,
1839, after 35 years of service, William Landis died Aug 4, 1848 after 8
years of service, Valentine Young died April 27, 1850 after 40 years of
service. Samuel Moyer, the younger died Aug 24, 1877 after service of
about 20 years. Jacob Oberholtzer organized the new school congregation
and preached here for sometine. Chistian Clemmer, of Berks Co., preached
here about 20 years and died 1883.
John Matheis Eichener (Eichener, Egener, Egner), the ancestor of the
Egner family, emigrated from the Palatinate in 1727. His wife's maiden
name was Barbara Knappenberger. Children; Mathias, Peter, Henry, John,
Daniel, Solomon, Christian, Catharine, Eve, and Elisabeth. Of these
Mathias married a Miss Aughster and had 2 chilren-Charles and Elizabeth.
Peter married Susanna Stout and had children-David and Elizabeth. Henry
married Catharine Schneider and had childrenp Thomas, Sarah, Catharine,
Esther, Elizabeth and Judith. John married Catharine Boger and had
children-Jesse, Samuel, Leah, Judith, Anna and Mary. Daniel married
Christian Steininger and had children-Isaac and Hannah. Solomon married
Lydia Shuler, and moved West. Christian married Elias Weaver, and is the
grandmother of Joseph Weaver. Catharine married Casper Wieder, and is
the grandmother of Edwin E. Wieder and Mrs. Abraham Schafffer. Eve
married John Weaver, and is the grandsmother to William H. Weaver, of
Coopersburg, John Weaver, of Centre Valley and Ephraim Weaver, of
Saucon. Elizabeth married John Hottel of Limport.
