According to "The Montgomer County Story", 1951, The Rev. Michael Schlatter
was a famous Reformed Clergyman. He was an esteemed member of the Montgomery
County community. In 1756 he gave up his church work and settled in
Erdenheim, PA. He was one of the prominent men of the mid 18th century to
first approve of English teaching in the area.

If you would like any more info please email me privately with what you'd like
and I'll look it up for you when I go to the Historical Society next Tuesday.

Amy

Hi all,

I am somewhat new to this list and am researching the following surnames
in Montgomery county: Wentz, Fitzgerald, Engle. I have recently come
across a photocopy of a page of a family bible showing a handwritten
copy of a marriage record for the year 1779. The name with the record
is Micheal Schlatter, Minister of the Gospel. Does anyone happen to
know if this man was a circuit minister and, if so, are there any
records compiled about him? I haven't found his name associated with
any particular church so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, for anyone else researching these surnames, I'd be glad to share
what information I have.

Kathy Klemmer
Burke, VA
