Obituaries:
Elizabeth Y. YERGER, wife of George W. YERGER, of Pine Forge, died on
Saturday, aged 74 years and 4 months. Besides her husband she is survived
by one son, John. The funeral was held yesterday with interment in
Pottstown Cemetery.
Richard HOUSTON, aged 70 years of Norristown, died at Montgomery Hospital,
Norristown, on Saturday of injuries sustained when he was knocked down by
an auto belonging to the State Hospital and driven by Elisha HICKMAN, 36
years old, who resides at the State Hospital. His wife and children
survive. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery yesterday.
Elizabeth GARR, wife of George GARR of Lansdale, formerly of East
Greenville, was found dead in bed on Tuesday, aged 57 years. She is
survived by her husband and five children: Mrs. Louis DEROCHER, of
California; Wesley GARR and Mrs. Geo. HAGENBUCH, East Greenville; Mrs.
Clarence CASH, Lansdale, and Arthur GARR, Fabens, Texas., also three
sisters and a brother. The funeral will be held on Monday with high mass
of requiem at St. Stanislaus Church and burial in the Blessed Sacrament
Cemetery, at Bally.
William ABRAHAM, of Abrams, died on Saturday from paralysis, aged about
sixty-five years. Besides his wife, Fannie P. Abraham, one daughter,
Frances, survives. There are also three surviving brothers, as
follows: Elwood, of Norristown; Howard, of Phial.; and George of
Pittsburgh. Interment in Riverside Cemetery on Tuesday.
John F. GODSHALL, of Souderton died on Sunday, aged 73 years, 7 months and
1 day. He is survived by his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Leidy GARIS, of
Lansdale. The funeral was held Tuesday at Leidy's Reformed Church;
interment in the adjoining cemetery. Undertaker E.S. Moyer had charge.
Abraham C. MOYER, of Souderton, died on Sunday, aged 78 years, 5 months and
7 days. He is survived by his widow and six children. The funeral was
held today at the Souderton Mennonite Meetinghouse; interment in the
adjoining cemetery. Undertaker E.S. MOYER had charge.
Robberies:
Early Friday morning, a large motor truck pulled into an alley behind the
hosiery factory of TONNER and MOYER, Lansdale, and loaded $1500 worth of
silk. The robbery was discovered when the factory opened. Detective John
STEVENSON was put on the case.
Herman LITKA's Ford car was stolen from his garage at Jeffersonville on
Saturday morning and was found in Philadelphia the next day.
Arthur BREY, of Chalfont, had the misfortune of having a new Ford car
stolen from his residence on Sunday evening. Mr. BREY bought the car
Saturday evening, in Doylestown and Sunday evening ran it to his home in
Chalfont, where he stored it in his garage with his truck. When he went to
get his car Monday morning he discovered it had been stolen.
