John Penrose, son of Robert and Mary (Heacock) born in Richland
township. He married Ann Roberts, d/o John and Martha (Roberts) Roberts,
their son, Nathan, born 1769 married Hanna Hick, their daugther Ann,
born 1779 married George Hicks.

Jane Carr, d/o Jonathan and Macre (Worthington) Carr, born in Plumstead,
2mo 26, 1810 married her cousin, Josiah Michener, s/o John and Esther
(Dryer) Michener, of Plumstead, the son, Jonathan, born 1843 married
Clementine Hicks

Samuel Shaw, first America progenitor of Richland, was born in County
Antrim, Ireland, in 1710 came to PA in 1729, bringing a certifcate from
Lisbon MM in Chester County, in 1734 he moved to Maiden Creek, Berks
County and he died 1781. His wife gave legacies each to the children of
his deceased dauther, Mary Miler and to his son, Joseph, to his
daughter, Hannah Hicks. Hannah, born 1738 married William Hicks.
