Could the name be COLDER?

The Northumberland Co. Historical Society has two references to a William
COLDER in their "Proceedings", Vol. 10. That's just an index so I can't
give you the complete reference, but they are:
Vol 5, page 108 and Vol. 8, page 125.

Also, in the German newspaper, "Der Libanon Demokrat" there is mention of a
marriage Dec. 25, 1851 between the Rev. James COLDER of the China Mission of
the Methodist Church and Ellen G. WINEBRENNER, daughter of the Rev. J.
WINNEBRENNER of Harrisburg. They were married by the Rev. F. HODGSON, D.D.

And, in the index to Pennsylvania's "Colonial Records" there is a listing
for a James COLDER in Vol. 4, page 211.

Good luck,
Elida in SC

Subject: CODER in Danville

> My great-great-greatgrandfather WILLIAM J. CODER was in Danville in the
early 1800s. (He's mentioned in the Danville Intelligencer in 1833.) He was
a Methodist Episcopal minister and physician. He and several of his sons
(including my great-great grandfather DAVID J. CODER) went west to Mason
County, IL, about 1837. WILLIAM's son GEORGE H. CODER and his wife ALIDA
PITNER lived in Danville until 1850, when they moved to Shamokin.
> I've been trying for several years to find out where William came from and
who his wife (her name may have been Harriet) and parents were. He may have
been in Luzerne County, PA, and/or Warren County, NJ, prior to coming to
Danville. I'm at a deadend and would appreciate any leads.
> Other Coders in the area who may have been related: SIMON or SAMUEL CODER
and HENRY CODER. My Coders don't seem to be connected to the German
Koder/Kuder line. They always spell it with a "C" and are Methodist rather
than Luteran or Reformed.
