Back after a long abscence. Here's a quick overview of my research into the BEST family of Danville, Montour County.

My g-g-g-g-grandparents were Thomas BEST and Elinor BRYAN. They had three sons, Alexander, John and Valentine.

Alexander BEST married Helen FORSYTH, daughter of Andrew FORSYTH. Their children were Catherine Elizabeth and John Mills BEST.

Catherine never married, to the best of my knowledge.

John married Susan Jane GRIER in 1862, children Margaretta WINCHELL PITBLADDO, Helen SUTHERLAND, William BEST and John Grier BEST. This family moved west to Missouri, probably Kansas City.

Helen moved to Canada with her husband, and Margaretta to New York. Some descendants of William BEST are in Oklahoma City. I have found no descendants of John BEST to date.
