Thought this would be of interest...
In the bicentennial book for the Borough of Roscoe, they give a walking tour
of the town, giving tidbits about the past and present day businesses. It
contains the following on the Furlong Drugstore:
... Across the street from the (First National) bank on the opposite corner
was the Furlong building. On the right side of the, Mrs. SUTTON ran a candy
store. Manny BLOWER had a barbershop there. When he moved to a new
location, Bob HIXENBAUGH opened a store in that part of the building. It
later became Jack STARK's Market. On the left side of this building, Mrs.
FURLONG and her sister had a drug store. Over eighty years ago there was
also a small theater on the second floor of the Furlong Building. This
building, the location of the Roscoe Laundromat, was torn down and is now
part of the American Legion Yard, The FURLONG home was the next building
(American Legion, Post 801). The Furlong family raised peacocks at their
home.
There was a large hotel next door. At some point in history it was known
as the Furlong Hotel. Harry FURLONG sold pianos in the downstairs area of
this hotel...
(All this was on Railroad St. Now known as Furlong Avenue.)
There is also a photo, the caption is "Mrs. FURLONG in her drugstore."

I remember this drugstore in Roscoe from my childhood
days. It was on the main street, nearest the railroad
tracks, about 2 or 3 blocks north of the bank
building. It was a large building with a large
picture window in front, with a good-sized soda
fountain. The reason I remember that so distinctly is
because it had a marble counter with high,
wrought-iron bar stools--very Victorian. It must have
been quite opulent in its heyday.
