Searching for all family connections to Thomas Birch/Burch Sr. born:
1746 in Ireland, died: 17 April 1844 in Monongalea W. VA.

His 1st wife was Mary Gray ... they were married abt. 1777 in Montgomery
Co. Maryland & they had 6 children ( Sarah b. abt. 1778, Christina,
Rebecca (md. Matthew McConnall, 16 Feb. 1811 in Monongalia Co.) ;
Benjamin, William & Thomas Jr.( b. 1784, and md. Margaret Griggs.)
They lived in Washington Co. PA at that time.

About 1806 Thomas Sr. abandoned his first wife & family & took a common
law wife, Mary Knox, and sired a 2nd large family with her. We are
trying to determine the names for those children from 1806 to the time of
his death in 1844. This was apparently in the Monongalia Valley area.


Some collateral names are: Chapman, DeBolt, Griggs, Grimm, Hall, Knox,
Mitchell etc.



How can I access marriage/birth records for the Monongela Co.
communities in early 1800's through the 1840's? I am not a member of
Ancestry.com. Marriage bonds/records can & should list the names of
parents for the bride & groom. I need to locate this type of records!
Help!!!!!

The 1838 Tax Lists for Monongalia Co. W.VA shows that Lewis Little
Burch, Matthew Burch, Thomas Jr. & Thomas Sr. are living in the
Monongalia Census area. These people are of our lineage. How can I
determine the exact location of their properties & vital statistics?

Is there a Historical Society address that I can contact who can give me
some help?
