I found out recently from my great-aunt that my great-great-grandfather left his wife and 4 daughters to work on the Panama Canal. Sometime during the course of the construction, he contracted yellow fever and died there. My question is, how do I go about finding information on this man? I only have his last name, which was Hoover. I have no birth or death dates, except that I know he died while the Canal was being built; I assume that puts his death before 1914. Can anyone advise me?
