Subject: Central Moravian Church - Benade Family

Hi All -

I am looking for someone that has any information on the BENADE family and/or
access to the records of the Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, PA, where
they more than likely were members. There may even be something from records
of Pen Argyl, Northampton Co., PA.

I came across an article in The Morning Call newspaper (June 24, 1991, "Church
Renovates Stair Hall) which mentions, "The Oriel Pulpit, now mounted within
the southwest stairs, was the original 1806 pulpit designed by Benjamin Benade
and constructed by cabinet maker/carver Johann Friedrich Bourquin."

I am related to Rev. Johann Benade and his wife, Christiana Frederica (Faber)
Benade, their son, Christopher "Benedict" Benade (b. 26 Sep 1752, Milkel,
Upper Silesia, d. 23 May 1841, Filetown, PA) m. 21 Sep 1794, Nazareth, PA,
Elizabeth (Alleman) Benade (b. 25 Dec 1761, Warwick Twp, Lancaster Co., PA),
and Christopher's daughter, Dorothea Benade (b. 26 Jan 1796, Nazareth, PA, d.
18 Dec 1881, Pen Argyl, Northampton Co., PA) married to (1) Christian Heinrich
Stauber (b. 30 Jun 1799, d. 6 Oct 1830), married (2) Gabriel Romig (b. 18 Mar
1804, d. 15 Oct 1872). Christopher Benedict Benade and Elizabeth Alleman had
two other daughters: Anna Rebecca Benade (b. 12 Oct 1799) and Henriette
Benade (b. 8 May 1803, Filetown, PA).

Is Benjamin a cousin of Christopher Benedict? An older brother? I did get
this information from the church, but I do not know if, or how, Benjamin
Benade is related:

Benjamin Benade (Oriel Pulpit)
born 10/29/1842 at Philadelphia
son of Charles and Margaret (Wolfe) Benade
baptized and confirmed his faith on Palm Sunday 3/25/1866
by the Rev. Edmund deSchweinitz at Central Moravian Church

I also have found the name Andrew Benade. Anyone know if he connects?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
