Hello,
Quite a few of my ancestors passed through Northampton County in the
mid- to late-1700s. Of course some of them actually lived in what is now
Monroe or Luzerne counties but are listed in Northampton records.
For a complete listings please check my family tree maker site at:
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/b/o/w/Brian-E-Bowers/index.html
and check the earliest generations under Mary Nye and Edward Bowers.
Here are the basics:
* The BAUER/BOWER family of Northampton County, Pa., and later Ridgely,
Md., and Beaver County, Pa. Diel Bauer immigrated from Germany around
1750.
* The NYE family of Beaver County, Pa. Andreas Neu immigrated from
Germany in 1733 and Andrew Nye moved to western Pa. around the time of
the Revolution.
* The BELLAS family of Butler County, Pa. Moved from Luzerne County,
Pa., in early 1800s. Appear in early Northampton records.
* Conrad HESS appears in Nothampton County record at the foundation of
the county. His son, Jeremiah, later moved to what is now Luzerne
County.
