Hi Listers,

I'm new to the list. Trying desperately to find proof that ALLEN PURDY is
the son of JACOB PURDY.

Allen is my husband's g-g-grandfather. He and Jacob first appeared together
in the 1820 and 1830 census in what is now Wayne County, NY. Have just found
a deed which shows Jacob moved there from Palmyra, Wayne Co, PA in 1814. In
1791, when Allen was born, this would have been part of Northampton Co.

Jacob is descended from the Westchester Purdys (Jacob 6, Silas 5, Peter 4,
Francis 3, Francis 2, Francis 1). In "thumbing" through the maillist
archives, I noticed a message referring to a book entitled Northampton Co. PA
Births 1733-1800 by John Humphrey. Would anyone have any knowledge of this
book? Would anyone have any knowledge of Jacob's children? Any and all help
gratefully accepted. Will be happy to share info on Allen's descendants.
