Hi!
I just became aware of my ancestor's ties to Northampton Co. Can anyone give me general help about what resources are available for Northampton Co., please? Are there any histories of the county that have been published, compilations of births, or marriages, etc.?
I'm searching for a Napoleon FRY/FREY/FRYE b. 12-1811 in Northampton Co. , PA. He married a Matilda (don't know last name - in one census, she's called Catherine). She, also, was born in Northampton Co., PA about 1812/1813. Their first child, William FRY, was born in Northampton Co. about 1833/34. Their second child, Sarah Ann, was born in Centre Co., PA about 1836/1837, as were their next 4 children. Then they had a child born in Mercer Co., PA - Henry b. about 1850/1851. They ended up in Washington and Athens Counties in Ohio. Napoleon died in 1876.
It appears that Napoleon lived in Northampton Co for 20+ years. He was born there, likely married there, and his first son was born in Northampton Co. Napoleon was a blacksmith.
Thanks much for any leads anyone can give, about researching in Northampton Co. in general, or Napoleon specifically.
Mary
