Subject: [PANORTHA-L] Where is Columbia Station, PA
Date: Sun, 16 Apr 2000 08:04:59 -0400

Hi,

I just got back from a very quick trip to NJ & PA. While there I visited
the Marx Room at the Easton Public Library and found a marriage notice for
my George R. LABAR & Rossanah WISE in 1826. I found it in Marriages &
Deaths Northampton County - Newspaper Extracts 1852-1870, Vol II (from the
Argus). It stated that both of them were from Columbia Station. I usually
try to transcribe the information exactly as it is written/typed, but now I
am second guessing myself. I wrote Columbia Station, PA, but I can't find
Columbia Station anywhere. I found a Columbia out near Harrisburg
somewhere, and a Columbia right near the Delaware River (not far from
Portland, Northampton Co, PA), but I can't tell from my map which side of
the river it is on. Does anyone know where Columbia Station is? I have
some information on the WISE line, but I have hit a dead end with this
particular George R. LABAR (I know he is buried at Riverview Cemetery in
Portland). I have been unable to find his parents anywhere, and I am
hoping that this may give me a little clue as to where to look. Any help
would be appreciated.

Thank you,
