I'm looking for someone with a knowledge of land grants in Northampton
County before 1800. I just received the copy of my ancestors grant and
it raises more questions than it answers. (Isn't that always the case?)

I'm particularly interested in the roll of Robert Morris, Esq., a lawyer
of Easton, who seemed to be one of the processors of almost all the land
grants and deeds of this era. (His name is on most of the early deeds
and grants, like a real estate attorney.) He also seems to be a
speculator of land grant land, as my ancestor's land was deeded to
Morris within 2 years of his receiving it, as was a neighbors. (If I'm
reading the papers correctly.)

Has anyone done any study into this to help me sort it out? Or can you
recommend anyone who can answer a few questions?

Thanks,
Robin
