The Diary of David Scultze

June 22, 1756. In Allemingle a man, Drumm by name was killed by the
Indians. His wife escaped. One son had been captured but escaped again.

Andreas Volk, the head of the Volk Family, was born on the Wiese near
Worm in 1678. He was married to Catharine Merckel, she was born in
Durnstein near Worms in 1680. He came with the Rev. Joshus Kocherthal to
London in 1708 where by the kindnesss of Queen Anne they were
transported to New York and given lands at what is now called Newberg.
He together with several other families left New York about 1735 and
settled in Allemangle where he died in 1747. He was the father of the
following children;

Barbara, born Easter Week, 1703 in Durnsteein, and was married to John
Holder

George, Sept. 1705

Carl, Nov. 18, 1709

Andreas, May 12, 1721.

At the time of his death Andreas Volck was survived by 64 grandchildren
and 19 great- grandchildren.

Upon the completion of Fort Allen, now Weissport, by Benjamin Franklin,
Captian Carl Folk of Allemangel was placed in Command.

Andreas Volk, the first of this family was born 1678 near Wiese, near
Worms he was a husbandman and a vine dresser , He married Catharine
Meckel. He moved to Lynn township about 1735.

Barbara, April 17, 1703, married March 1722 to John Holder, born in
London, March 21, 1694, a son of Rem Holder

George, Sept. 1705, married 1739 to Dorothea Dewees, born Aug. 18, 1722.
He died Nov. 13, 1761. They had no children, His widow married in 1764
to Andreas Eisenhart.

Maria, born 1711 married a Meyer

Eliz. born 1713 married a "Craemer

Catharine, born 1715 married a "Dreis".

Jacob, born in New York in 1717, married Jan. 29, 1740 to Mary Dewees,
born Dec. 14 1721

Andreas born in New York, May 12, 1721, married Sept. 11, 1741, to Maria
Margaret , d/o John Adam Romig. She was born in Ittlingen, Dec. 18,
1722. In 1762 they moved from Lynn township to "Shoeneck, and in 1763 to
Quittopchilla. They had 8 children;

Captain Charles Volck or Foul was born Nov. 18, 1709, bp. in New York,
Sept. 10, 1710, he moved to Lynn township. In 1756 Benjamin Franklin
states he raised a command under Foulk.

Captain Volck married in 1730 to Cathaine Harzy, born Dec. 17, 1713. He
died in 1766, at Herbon, PA. They had 10 children;

Hannah, born 1731, married Henry Romig.

Rebecca 1745

John, 1747-1747 ( 1 day old)

Maria, 1752

Rosiana 1754

Carl, 1757.
