Long, Ephraim, of Lehigh County, was born May 27, 1821 and is the son of
John and Elizabeth (Heilmam) Long, the father being born in Northampton
county, the mother in Lehigh county.

John Long, a miller by trade, then he became a tailor. He began to fam
in North Whitehall township. In 1874 he came to Egypt. He married in
1846 to Hanna Kline, d/o Jacob and Susan (Gross) Kline. Children;
Achiles J., of Berks county, Elmiira, Calvin J., of Cleveland, Ohio,
Alfred of Bucks County, PA, Alice, the wife of Rev. Henry L. Fegley of
New Tripoli, Eugene of Egypt, Walter , Daniel, Agnes, the wife of
Samuel Black of Luzerne County, Josephine, the wife of Benjamin Brown.

Jacob E. Long, President of the 1st National Bank of Bangor, who was
born at Mt. Bethel, Northampton county, July 5, 1845, and he is the son
of William A., and Eva (Miller) Long.
His maternal ancestors were of German origin, while through his father
he traces his lingage to Scotland. His paternal grandfather, Abraham
Long was a native of Northampton. He is buried at the Stone Church.
Member of the German Reformed Church. During the War of 1812, he served
as a Capt.

William A., was born in 1805, Eva (Miller) Long, was the d/o Christian
Miller of Northampton County. Children; Hiram, Jeremiah, Jacob, Etna,
Lucinda, and Emma.

Jacob E. served in the Civil war, Company F., 129th PA. In 1874 he
married Nettie Roseberry of Belvidere, NJ., the d/o Joseph M. Roseberry.
