Henry Stetler was granted on 20 Dec 1728 by patent of the proprietaries,
fifty acres . He was naturalized in 1740. He was married twice. The
second wife was Anna Mary Moyer, widow. Children; Anna Maria who married
Joseph Kolb, Magdalana, married George Kolb, Barbara married Peter
Binks, John who died Dec 30, 1812 Jacob Henry was born Feb 31, 1741 and
died Dec 5, 1813, Abraham, Samuel, Susanna, and Sophia. Henry Stetler
died 16 Sept 1763, aged 57. He owned a plantation in New Hanover
township. He lived in Frederick township.
Henry Stetler Jr. left no male children. Christian Stetler, son of the
elder Henry, was born Feb 3, 1741, married March 4, 1765, to Catharine
Kurtz, died Dec 5, 1813. He was the progenitorof the Stetlers of
Fredericktown. His wife died Nov 3, 1826; Children; Hannah born Jan of
1769, Henry born Aug 9, 1771, Philip, born Nov 22, 1773, Abraham born
June 11, 1780, Adam born Oct 9, 1787
May 22, 1729 "William Frey" of Parkeawming, yeoman" bought of James
Steel 200 acres. He was the son of Henryy Frey and Catharine Levering,
who were married on the 26th of April, 1692, at Germantown, before
Francis Daniel Pastorius, justice of the peace. It is said that Henry
Frey came to PA., before the arrivial of Wm. Penn.
William Frey married Vernocia Markley. Children; Henry married Jan 25
1756 to Anna Maria Buerstler, William, Catharine, married John Gesel
Magdalena, married Oct 16, 1745 to Christoper Baus, Veronica married
Joseph Miller, Jacob born Jan 1, 1726, Christina married Feb 16, 1748 to
Johann Heinrich Seegner, Matthias, Solame married Christoper Hensel.
William and his wife are buried at Bertolet's meeting-house.
Veronica Frey, who afterward was the wife of Joseph Miller, sailed from
New York, on the 9th of Jan, 1743 for England, in the ship "Jacob",
which carried a Moravian company, and afterward with her husband, was
statioed at the Brethern's institution in Germany.
Jacob, son of William Frey, was a carpenter. On Dec. 17, 1749, Jacob
Frey was one of 22 single brethren who left for Bethlehem for Christian
Spring, in Northampton. He married Susanna Sophia Bertolet, a d/o Jean
Bertolet, a Huguenot refugee, who came to PA in 1726 and settled in
Oley. Their chilldren were, Esther, the 1st wife of Samuel Bertolet,
Elizabeth, married Jan 26, 1790, Samuel Bertolet (his second wife),
Magdalen married Nov 5, 1792, to Johannes Schlichter.
John Miller, husbandman, on the 10 of Aug 1732, bought of Humphrey Morry
and John Budd 125 acre. He was a Doctor, he marrieed in 1732 to
Elizabeth Frey, born in 1717, a d/o Henry and Catharine Frey, maiden
name Levering. Children; Catharine born 1733, married Henry Harpel,
Salome, born 1735, married Daniel Knauss, Elizabeth born 1737, married
Jacob Eckel, John, born 1738, Anna, born 1739, married John Marburger,
Joseph, born 1740, Henry, born 1743, Anna Maria, 1744, died in infancy,
Magdalena born 1747, Jacob, born 1749, John Phillip born 1751,
Christian. Dr. Miller died Sept. 16, 1755, and his widow died in 1758.
